“A thoughtful meditation on the positive potential and danger of monuments”: The Art Newspaper on Stanislava Pinchuk’s Europe Without Monuments

3 Aug 2022

Jonathan Wiggin from The Art Newspaper reviews Manifesta 14, naming the ambitious biennial a “hit”.

On Stanislava Pinchuk’s installation Europe Without Monuments, Wiggins writes: “…in Mitrovica, an epicentre of Kosovan-Serbian tensions, Stanislava Pinchuk’s installation Europe Without Monuments, a thoughtful meditation on the positive potential and danger of monuments, sits in the river that splits the divided town, in the shadow of a bridge still patrolled by Nato soldiers.”

Pinchuk’s Europe Without Monuments is on view until 22 September 2022.
