Alvin Ong: Finalist for The 2022 Sovereign Asian Art Prize

Congratulations to Alvin Ong who has been selected as a finalist for The 2022 Sovereign Asian Art Prize! 

Held annually, the contemporary art prize is recognised as the most established and prestigious annual art award in Asia-Pacific that celebrates the best talent in the region. It was launched in 2003 to broaden the international outreach of regional artists while raising funds for programmes that support less fortunate children through the sale of artworks.

The annual prize of $30,000 honours mid-career artists from Asia-Pacific, who are nominated by a board of independent art professionals to reveal a cohesive and fair representation of the most noteworthy contemporary art within the region. In addition to the grand prize, finalists will compete for a public vote prize, decided through an online voting system and at the exhibition at Art Central from, held at the the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26-29 May 2022.

Winners will be announced in May, with shortlisted artworks exhibited and auctioned, where the proceeds will be split evenly between the artists and the Sovereign Art Foundation.
