Ames Yavuz is pleased to return to Art Fair Philippines 2026 with a dynamic presentation across two exhibition spaces.
Presented concurrently is Okay, Next., a solo presentation by Yeo Kaa at Art Fair Philippines’ Gallery Projects (6F). Drawing from the past ten years of the artist’s practice, the exhibition marks a moment of reflection and forward movement—placing past and present side by side to acknowledge what has been made and to move ahead with clarity, intention, and resolve.
One of the leading painters in Southeast Asia, Yeo Kaa has made her name picturing the disturbing and unpleasant in a striking aesthetic of contrasting pastels and doll-like figurations. In this seemingly naïve, jovial, and brightly coloured world, she portrays the macabre and violent, confronts social taboos and deals with pain, anguish, and distress. Whether it is the twisted irony, nonchalance, or irreverence of such a take on the unsettling realities of life that make her art arresting, she has nonetheless emerged as a distinct voice among artists of her generation.
