Fremantle Arts Centre presents The Archaeology of Loss by Stanislava Pinchuk

Acclaimed Ukrainian-Australian artist Stanislava Pinkchuk presents her first institutional exhibition in Western Australia titled The Archaeology of Loss.

Pinchuk’s practice symbolises the ongoing crisis in her home country, Ukraine, as appearing to be an archaeology of loss. From her experience of the illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Pinkchuk investigates how landscape holds remnants of political and environmental imbalance and trauma, reflecting the impact on human experience over time. Pinkchuk collects topographical data from sites of conflict and disaster from different parts of the world, translating these elements into delicate artworks that speak to the enduring cost of war and conflict.

The Archaeology of Loss runs from 24 July till 7 September.
