Guido Maestri at the newly opened Mudgee Arts Precinct

7 Aug 2021

The Mudgee Arts Precinct has officially open its doors to the public, coinciding with the inaugural exhibition by Mudgee-born artist and Archibald Prize winner, Guido Maestri.

For the last year, Maestri has travelled back to his hometown of Mudgee to create a series of dynamic landscape paintings that are imbued with a connection to his formative years. The exhibition explores memories of his childhood home ‘Homedale’, his experiences of the vast landscape, alongside recollections from the illustrated children’s book ‘The Bunyip of Berkeley’s Creek’.

Stories from Homedale is currently on view until 25 November at the Mudgee Arts Precinct.
