Ocula Advisory features André Hemer at Melbourne Art Fair 2022
17 Feb 2022
Ocula rates Vienna-based artist André Hemer as one of its favourite works on view at this year’s Melbourne Art Fair. The fair marks the country’s first in-person showcase since the beginning of the pandemic.
“Despite their referencing digital worlds, Hemer’s lush images are best experienced in person to observe their layered entities” write Tessa Moldan.
Scenes from an Infinite Sky presents a new series of paintings and a specially commissioned large-scale wall and video installation. It continues Hemer’s investigation of the bounds of materiality and appearances, and what it means to create paintings during a time in history in which the experience of an object is continuously blurred between states of the physical and the digital.
Visit us at Booth D5 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre until 20 February 2022.
