Pinaree Sanpitak Unveils ‘Indigo Vessel’ at Wonderfruit Festival in Collaboration with Philip Huang

12 Dec 2024

Pinaree Sanpitak collaborates with Philip Huang to bring her iconic Vessels to ‘Indigo World’ at Wonderfruit Festival, Thailand.

Led by clothing label Philip Huang, Indigo World explores the concept of care and nurturing—principles at the heart of the ancient art of indigo dyeing and central to our existence on Earth. In this collaboration, Sanpitak merges her Vessel and Breast Cloud forms with Philip Huang’s age-old craft, creating Indigo Vessel.

In Indigo Vessel, clay vessels are hand-crafted by master artisan Dach Nanklang from Dan Kwian village, specifically designed for the indigo dyeing process. These vessels have then been prepared and activated as dye vats for communal workshops, highlighting the extraordinary care required for indigo dyeing on such a large scale.

The artist will also join Huang for an intimate vessel-side conversation, moderated by Chomwan Weeraworawit, to discuss their collaboration and the creation of an immersive installation that unites art, tradition, and community. The talk will take place on Friday, 13 December, from 4–5 pm on-site.

Experience Sanpitak’s immersive installation at Wonderfruit Festival until this Sunday, 15 December.
