Pinaree Sanpitak’s ‘Breast Stupa Topiary’: A Timeless Marvel at Asian Art Museum

Pinaree Sanpitak’s ‘Breast Stupa Topiary’ is now on view at the new terrace wing of Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, as part of their permanent collection.

These sculptures serve as an extension and continuation of Sanpitak’s exploration of ‘breast stupas’ – a key leitmotif in her creative journey across various mediums. Crafted from stainless steel, these impressive three-meter-high breast-stupa sculptures were initially exhibited as an outdoor installation at the Museum voor Moderne Kunst Arnhem in The Netherlands.
