Pinaree Sanpitak’s Offering Vessel III has been acquired by The Chrysler Museum of Art and joins the Museum’s important collection of modern and contemporary art. Widely regarded as one of the most important artists of her generation in Asia, Sanpitak had presented Temporary Insanity, a seminal installation at the Museum in 2012.
Offering Vessel lll continues her series of the early 2000s registers the vessel as a container or as a repository of emptiness. Widely regarded as the most important important artists of her generation in Asia, Sanpitak had presented ‘Temporary Insanity’, a seminal installation at the Museum in 2012.
She continues to develop an enigmatic inventory of symbols distilling women’s bodies to their most elemental parts, expressed variously through vessels, breasts, eggs, and subtly curved profiles.
