Pinaree Sanpitak’s work acquired by the Art Gallery of South Australia

Pinaree Sanpitak’s artwork Affairs of Serving III is now part of the Art Gallery of South Australia’s permanent collection.

Sanpitak is regarded as on of Asia’s most significant contemporary artists. For over four decades, she has developed an enigmatic inventory of symbols that distill women’s bodies into their most elemental parts and are tethered to a captivation with her own body and motherhood. Her art is a reflection of her fascination with the human form, particularly women’s bodies, and the way they interact with space and the world around them. In Affairs of Serving III, Sanpitak continues to explore these themes with a unique blend of grace and power.
