Yavuz Gallery Welcomes Alanna Irwin
20 Mar 2023
Yavuz Gallery is delighted to announce the appointment of Alanna Irwin as Program Director. In her role, Irwin will focus on the creative direction and execution of the gallery’s program including art fairs and artist projects internationally. Alanna will partner with the Yavuz leadership to continue fostering strong relationships with artists, collectors and institutions, with the primary aim of expanding the reach and distinction of the Gallery and its artists.
Irwin’s appointment forms a critical step in Yavuz’s broader vision to expand support of our artists with an ambitious global platform across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America. Alanna’s experience will complement the expertise of our current team and together they will continue to grow the Gallery’s diverse curatorial program to promote wider dialogues through contemporary art.
Irwin joins Yavuz with an impressive background in the arts, having worked across commercial gallery management, institutional program development, curating, writing and education. In her most recent role, Irwin was the Development Manager of Artspace, Sydney, where she was instrumental in shaping growth strategies and securing funding for the organisation’s artistic program and major building transformation. Alongside her prior roles, Irwin has lectured in Art History, Theory and Curating at the University of Sydney, where she holds a Master of Art Curating.
Irwin will be based in Sydney/Gadigal.
