Sydney Contemporary 2023

Booth F19
Carriageworks
245 Wilson St
Eveleigh NSW 2015

7 – 10 September 2023

Celebrating the artists behind our 7th edition of Sydney Contemporary, Yavuz is proud to present an expansive group show that champions the established and rising stars of contemporary art. Challenging the frontiers of identity, belonging and transcultural dialogues, this presentation encapsulates the Gallery’s commitment to fostering artistic achievements across the Asia-Pacific region.

For Sydney Contemporary, Yavuz artists have created works that elude the colour spectrum almost entirely, capturing a space of suspended time and reflection in monochrome. Material connections between light, shadow, texture and form are amplified and themes associated with black and white weave through painting, sculpture and drawing.

Featured artists: Abdul Abdullah, Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, Zico Albaiquni, Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan, Christopher Bassi, Karen Black, Cybele Cox, Jedda-Daisy Culley, Ayka Go, Mehwish Iqbal, Guido Maestri, Julian Meagher, Vincent Namatjira, Tom Polo, Caroline Rothwell, Kien Situ and Hadieh Shafie.
