Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan on view in ‘Connectivity Construction’ at ACC

22 Dec 2023

Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan are featured in the group exhibition titled ‘Connectivity Construction’ at Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Seoul, South Korea. Discover the essence of urban culture as the artists visually explore the ‘coexistence of architecture’, unraveling stories of harmony within city-scapes. Through sculptures, witness the construction and coexistence of space and time, as artists converge on the Imaginary Circle and Curve.

Reflecting on tradition and modernity in the endless flow of time, this exhibition springs from the question: What visual threads connect Asia’s urban landscapes? The value of coexistence, where objects or phenomena exist in mutual relationship, is showcased in ‘Connectivity Construction’ through the convergence of analogue and digital elements and the blending of lines, planes, and spaces. Just as materials connect and build upon each other in architecture, we touch, connect, and build upon each other to create a world where we can live together. This endless flow and the content within are cues for reflecting on the meaning of coexistence, highlighting the significance of these connections.

‘Connectivity Construction’ celebrates the unique coexistence shaped by Asian ideologies, where the past and present harmonise in the ever-evolving urban tapestry.

Explore the artist duo’s work on view at ACC until 21 July 2024.
